Q:Hi
We have been in our present home for nearly 8 years.
There is a two storey extension on the front, but i don`t know if planning permission was granted for it. We have two sets of plans, 1 from when the property was first built which does not show it how it was when fisrt built. As it shows it as a square box, which is wrong. The second is from when we bought the leasehold, which does show how it was first built, but with no extension. The extension is a bay window and
Q:What is a good rule of thumb re offers for property to expect from developers who want to acquire your home/back gardens for the purpose of bulldozing and putting in several houses instead. Location – south of England (Reigate, Surrey) – plan is not for high density but estate of small detached family homes.
I have heard that 125%, others have told me to hold out for 1 and a third, some have said to insist on 150% of the current value of the house on the market as the 'redeve

Q:Hi I hope you can help?
We are a couple in our mid life and we sold our house last year looking to downsize. We have approx £120k to spend on a property which in this area can get either a terrace or a semi. We have been renting for a year now and rent is £500 monthly.
The thing is my partner is absolutely convinced that house prices are going to crash any time now whereas I am not so sure……He feels that interest rises are coming and that will really move things along………..
Q:Hi there,
I hope someone knows more about this than me and can offer some advice.
I've seen a property I'd really like to buy as an investment to let out. It is a first floor purpose built maisonette. The garden at the front is very overgrown and I was worried about this because the estate agents told me it belongs to the downstairs owner and I thought that if the downstairs owner had no plans to maintain it that might put off my prospective tenants.
Q:Hi,
I am thinking of selling my house, and buying another, with the sole purpose of making some money to pay off a chunk of the mortgage.
When I bought this house (4 yrs ago), the solicitor involved kept the deeds. Do I need to involve him in any new sale?
Final question – I will try to sell private. If this works, what sequence of events must I follow? i.e. 1) Advertise (rightmove, etc) 2) Contact solicitor when buyer interested, etc….
Thanks in advan
Q:I am thinking of buying a new build apartment in the next year or two on a development by David Wilson homes. Part of the attraction is that I perceive them as an up market developer so would expect an above average quality new home. Does anyone else have experience of this developer, good or bad?
Also, I will be looking to buy a top floor apartment in a 3 storey block. Does anyone have any comments/experience on this sort of living? I like the security of the top floor and it

Q:I am thinking about moving and looking at several roads – sometimes it is hard to see if a road is suitable or not, there a little clues like the age of the cars, excessive leaded glass / replacement upvc windows etc but all that is now redundant.
For the next few weeks all you need to do is count the proportion of cars sporting cross of st george flags – more than a few percent and the road can be rejected and even more importantly flags fluttering out of / covering windows – even
