  • Three buyers after my house!

Q:Please advise. Am selling through an estate agent and there are three buyers after my house. They keep on putting in higher and higher offers by bidding against each other . [At the moment there is no comparable property on the market in my post code area at a price anywhere near as low as mine.]
Now the agent is advising me not to take higher offers or push the price up further as he is concerned a buyer whose offer I might accept will not be able to raise the necessary finance to buy th

  • New Bellway home cust care: Gnats through hole in window strip

    Q:Hi all

We purchased a new build Bellway home last year. Our experience has been mixed. Some good, some bad.

We recently called their customer care as we have seen gnats and sometimes other little flies coming through a little gap in the strip on the window sill adjacent to the window. I hope that makes sense.

The customer care has almost made me feel like we're complaining for no reason (hey, i'm not an expert in house building ). They said that it'

  • Rent for the 1st time, is there a credit check?

Q:I am 37, always been crap with money but this year have decided to sort myself out.
I am on the verge of having an IVA sorted which will see off the £20k of bills and am planning on moving out of the family home at the end of next month when I have the rent and bond.
One question to you lovely helpful people, when I use an agency i.e Dawsons etc, do they perform a credit check?
I can get a reference from my boss to say I have worked in my job for the last 5 years and confir

  • Islamic mortgage Sellers “- will cause delays?

Q:Just found out the only thing holding us up is that the sellers have an Islamic mortgage, which means the house is owned by the bank and they have to get the bank's approval to sell. Does anyone have knowledge or experience of Islamic mortgages? Is it likely to cause any more delays after we get the bank's approval?

  • Rental demand – all the money, but little else to offer

Q:We're looking to rent a house and would probably have to go through a letting agency, as landlords who don't use these are a very rare breed around here. We can pay six months rent plus the deposit, but both have a sketchy (non-existent) recent employment history and are unlikely to come through a credit check with flying colours either.

Does anyone know if being able to pay all the money up front would be enough to overcome these obstacles?
