Q:Hello all,
as per my other thread we will be looking to move house soon.
If I go with an online service, I don't feel right asking an EA to come round to value the place, so will try and go by prices on rightmove, neighbours prices paid – not on the market for.
It's a bit tricky, as ours isn't a typical house, ie it's an end terrace on a row of 4, but it is on a main road (but elevated) and also only 5 minutes walk from the nearest railway
Q:Hi
we are buying a new build in Northern Ireland we are also selling and have a short chain…. Currently everyone is getting surveys done and waiting for mortgages to be agreed…. I am trying to get ready and prepare for stages and have a few questions…
1. At what stage do I start committing to buying kitchens/bathrooms etc… My solicitor says we don't have exchange here just contracts signed as soon as mortgagges are all agreed and I should do it then…is that
Q:Hi,
Im buying a new build and the contract has come through. One point states that if we complete and fail to pay the full balance an interest of 5% above base rate will be due daily on the remaining balance, is this normal? It seems an extraordinarily huge amount, what if the mortgage didn't get through to their account on time or something?!
Q:…because I've never took out a loan or had a credit card!!!
I cannot belive it! I'm (hoping to become) a FTB and have today been rejected for a motrgage as they 'cannot verify my credit'
What sort of ****ing country do we live in where you get penalised for living within your own means all your adult life? I have intentionally never took out a credit card as i have always subscribed to the 'if you can't afford it, you can't have it' schoo
Q:If tenants report a window has been smashed, who should foot the bill – landlord or tenant? I'd expect the tenant to pay.
If insurance is used, would this be the landlord's buildings insurance or the tenant's contents insurance? If the former, who pays the excess?
GG
Q:If the solicitor above mine says that a day is set for exchange (tomorrow) can I assume that the top of the chain will be notified and this may actually happen?
I am so nervous, really hoping that it may actually go through now.
Q:Hi,
My friend is about to rent a 2 bedroom flat and he has arranged for someone to share with him.
The only problem is that the guy who he's sharing with has been declined after the checks that they do and he can't afford to rent it alone.
He is considering the idea of letting it alone with the other guy paying him by standing order. There isn't too much worry with him being let down money-wise as 2 months rent needs to be paid up front so if the o
Q:My wife and I are in our 50's and are looking to sell our flat then rent it back. I'm trying to find info concerning the financial implications for both the shortterm and the longterm. thanks.
Q:I rent a flat in Berks and have a dodgy managing agent who's trying to charge both myself (over £100) and landlord (not sure how much) for renewal fees as my fixed term Assured shorthold tenancy (AST) comes to an end. I'm trying to re-assure my landlord that another fixed term is not neccessary (thus negating charges, which on a tangent are probably legally questionable in themselves) and a periodic tenancy will do, but it's been difficult finding exact legal information regarding
Q:Hello,
We have seen a nice 2 bed flat in a new development (completed in Aug 2004). Ive looked and it sold new for £171,000. Its on now as a reposession for £169.950.
We viewed it tonight and the agent said they are open to offers as they just usually want their money back. We are not sure what to offer to be honest. Its in generally good condition although the baliffs have taken the hob from the oven and the outside shell of the fitted wardrobes (but wouldn
