Q:To find a 3 bedroom house for less than £240K in the north london area? I'm not even saying it has to be in London, as Enfield was a good option.
I've tried quite a bit, but, no luck as most of the good ones go quickly.
Any ideas?
Q:Hi,
I am purchasing a ground floor maisonette of a converted house – the first floor being a seperate flat . The property is freehold – the free hold being shared between me and the owner of the first floor flat.
All along we were told by the seller/agent that the rear garden is divided into two sections and and both flats ''own'' a private section of the garden exclusively.
To our horror and surpirse, I have only today received the contract and le
Q:Hi all, looking for advice or words of wisdom in the following scenario…
We are thinking of moving home so as to be in a better town for our daughter's education. Unfortunately house prices there are quite high. One option we've thought of is to sell our current house which will give us about £250,000 in cash after clearing the mortgage/fees etc, and then invest in a safe, high interest monthly interest paying account and use that to pay for a rental property. Does anyone think
Q:I'm renting a studio flat. Everything is basically in one room, separate bathroom, cgh. Can you imagine how surprised I was when I called to register for my council tax and heard that it is band D and I have to pay 145 pounds per month????
At that time I didn't know that there are only 2 flats of 4 registered for paying council tax. After a while I found out about VOA and I rised an appeal against my band. Now 2 months passed by and I don't know if I have any chance fo
Q:We are taking over a vacant property, and I have been informed by the estate agent that the property has a water meter that is located in the street, but they do not know where its located or what water authority owns it.
I have had a look around in the front garden and down the side of the house but I cannot see or find a meter anywhere?
As we will need to get a meter reading as soon as we take over the property. Is it a case I will have to ring around all the water comp
Q:Hi
Can anyone tell me whether BG's "yearly Safety and Maintenance Inspection" is the same thing as the Landlords gas safety check, which is a legal requirement for all rented properties?
In other words, can i just get BG's emergency breakdown cover at £12 a month and not bother with the corgi appliance check? Or are these 2 things entirely separate?

Q:We've had an offer accepted on a property which has a garage and smallish conservatory. No survey or searches have been done on the property yet, but we've discovered that the garage doesn't have planning permission because it's a "temporary structure" (sort of a "lean to". The current owner put this "temporary structure" up 3 years ago. How temporary is temporary? If you know what I mean……………… I believe that we're paying a prem
Q:Hi there,
I've been searching and looking around the chat forums for discussions on the viability of buy to let for investment, but cannot find any.
Am I looking in the wrong forums?
Can anyone direct me to the right threads?
Does anyone have an opinion?
Looking forward to your replies,

Q:Hi
How can I find out a house/property has ever had subsistence? Looking at buying a property however I'm concerned that the property may have been underpinned in the past. The issue is that I don't want to folk out for a survey to discover this as I wouldn't want to purchase the property if it ever had been underpinned. Is there any register that I can do a search under to see there as been any underpinning work on a property?
Q:who do i call? Bit of a tricky one as i may be buying at a discounted price from family, I know the house well as lived there for 25 years but there are a few cracks I'm not too sure about. I'm guessing this would be picked up in a full survey (costing approx £900), but is there anyone I could call to come and check it out for cheaper?
Just a bit reluctant to lay out £900 on a full survey only to be told dont buy it!
And is things like subsidence covered by home insurance?
