Q:Hi
I'm just looking for a little bit of advice, hope someone can help.
My sister was recently re-housed 50 miles away with her 3 children after problems with her boyfriend. None of them have settled there and she has no money to move. She's put her name down to be transferrred closer to other family, but being on DSS she's having problems renting anywhere privately.
Both my brother and I live in tied accomodation with our jobs. Brother earns around £14
Q:Okay guys the buying and selling lark is all new to me, we live in our first house since 89 so have acrued some equity. We now need to move to a bigger house, a 3 bedroom semi from a 2 up 2 down mid terraced.
I have had house valued early this year however I am going to get some update valuation, although I dont expect value of my house to increase that much.
We have been to EA and looked around several properties, one of which we like although I am holding out for a slig
A:its withing 13-10 yrs , fairly new build, thankyou
A:I think you may be able to get that information from the Land Registry but probably only for newer properties. Cost £3 from the Land Register online

Waht sort of age are we talking about?
Q:with stamp duty..its in levels..
from houses from £0 to £125,000 = 0 %
£125,001- £250,000 = 1%
Over £250,000- £500,000 3%
Over £500,000 4%
why isn't it like our tax system..
e.g, if the house is 150,000 ..= 150,000-125,000 = 25,000
therefore 25,000 x 1% = £250
and so on..
what do u think?
Q:Hey everyone, hope your all ok, and I appologise now if there is a more relevant place for this post to go.

Q:Hello all
Was wondering if anyone has any idea of what Edinburgh agents might be charging? I have read the advice in the stickies above, but as most Edinburgh property viewings seem to be by open-house with little involvement by the agent, I am wondering if perhaps they have a lower fee than elsewhere.
(Probably wishful thinking I know)
Anyone with first hand experience of Edinburgh estate agency fees out there?
Q:Hello all – my apologies if this isn't in the right place…?
I have a bit of a difficult one …my eldest daughter (29) + granddaughter is wanting to move in with her partner of 18 months…he currently owns his own house – she is in rented accommodation…
He would be selling his present house to move to new part of the country where they both want to be – she would be a newly qualified teacher hopefully in her 1st job by then and they would be jointly responsible for the
Q:My OH are after a house in Stockport that is on at 135950. It has been on the market since 1st Aug and has had a lot of interest but people are put off by the steps leading up to the property. Also the kitchen and bathroom could do with some improvements. I understand this will be considered when the EA value the property but our absolute top budget is 136k.
The question is we put in an initial offer of 124,950 due to the stamp duty threshhold and assured estate agent this was the m
Q:We have sold our flat subject to contract on the 21st July…. We have still not completed after various issues with the buyer. He is now having problems with his lender who are asking for amendments to be done to our lease… my solictor is refusing as the lease was complety rewritten in April of this year.
Our problem now is, we have moved to scotland, and are having to pay the mortgage and also the rent on our property here.
We don't really want the buyer to bac
