Q:Has anyone on here had any experience of buying a new home from Bloors? I just wondered what sort of reductions/negotiations they offer.
The house i have my eye on is the last one available on the site and is price at £215000, which is above our budget.
Could anyone give me any idea of what would be a sensible offer to go in with? we have sold our property and are ready to move.
I agree woth ypu abput Bloor thinking they are above themselves. We put in an offer 15% below the guide price and were laughed at. I personally think it was a good offer with the market like it is at the moment but they would not even consider it. More fool them, we shall now look elsewhere!!
Bloor Homes are one of the worse to negotiate with apparently. They are a bit above their station regarding how good their properties are! We went in with a low offer and they wouldn't even consider it/negotiate.
Having said all that their end of year is June and I am sure if you can complete by June then you should be able to get a good deal. Also with the last one left on the site they will want shot of it.
Work out what you can realistically afford then go in at a lower price and negotiate up ie. get stamp duty paid etc. Personally I would aim at 15% less than asking price. They have no emotional attachment to these houses and it won't offend.
Bear in mind too, that valuers are valuing newbuilds quite alot less than the asking price on newbuilds at present and mortgage companies want you to have a biggish deposit as newbuilds are overpriced to start off with.
Best of luck!
