Providing copies of utility [utility providers] [water bill]

Q:We are at the finally stages of selling our houses. We have answered all the questions put forward and provided the necessary certificates etc. I had already provided the details of all , including account numbers, plus estimates of the expenditure.

they have now asked me to provide a copy of the latest – why would this be? I could understand more if they had asked me for a copy of all utilities bills and would have assumed it was to double check what I had said re the level of the bills, but am a bit confused they have only asked for the .

Any reasons why?

Edited to say I am of course providing the bill, which confirms the estimates I provided, so it is just wondering why.

A:Ok – that makes sense. I knew there would be a simple reason for it

My solicitor wasn't at all concerned they had asked, so I didn't think it was anything to worry about.

A:Yup, this is what we were told as well, just to confirm that you are connected to mains water and sewerage. A copy of the is the easiest and quickest way of doing this.

A:They told me that it was to confirm that we are connected to the mains water supply.
