Am a newbie at renting out and wanted some advice.
me and my partner getting married and he is moving into my house. We have planned to rent his house ( he's on a fixed mortgage finishing 30th of June). We are getting married in the next week and have found someone to rent his house too.
I understand we need to get a buy to let mortgage.
The issues we've got is :
1/ the person who wants to rent wants the house for 6th of june. We are tied to a residential mortgage until 30th june. What's the best way to tackle this? Do we tell the company or wait till 30th of june/ rent the place anyway and then swap to another buy to let? Will they let us have permission to rent for 20 days if we decide to swap to buy to let with someone else?
2/ his house insurance ends on 8th of june. Can we still get landlord's insurance for the period if the mortgage company ok's it while we still on residential mortgage
would appreciate some help – very confused!
