We buy your house for cash – are these companies reliable? [first time buyers] [asking price]

Q:Hi MSEs

We have a highly saleable house, in a 'good area' but when we put it on the market at the end of last summer we had no offers. It looks like the 'after' from a sell your house reality show. We pitched the asking price below what the agents suggested, but it's a biggish house, so will be at the end of a chain. Without first time buyers at the bottom, nothing moves. We need to move this year.

Has anyone used one of these "we'll buy

  • Reduction of an agreed offer after the survey [asking price] [survey results]

    Q:Hi,

We had an offer accepted, albeit £30K under the asking price, back very early Jan. Following the survey results last week, we are looking at ~ £10K of more work other than the standard re-rurb and decor work initially thought.

Are we in our rights to negogiate a lower offer, based on this survey?

    Any thoughts?

  • Landlords are thinking of buying house – good idea? [first refusal] [asking price]

    Q:Hi all,

We are in the position of being able to buy our own home and after having our vendor pull out of our dream home last year, we are thinking of buying in our local area, which has a lower average asking price.

Our landlord is thinking of selling (I don't think he liked being asked to come and fix things), and we have asked for first refusal as it were as we do love the area and this house could be lovely after work! He has had 3 estate agents come and value the

  • How long to leave between the offers? [asking price] [climate]

    Q:Hi,

I made an offer yesterday on a house which I have just found out has been turned down. TBH I expected this on the first offer.

The house is on at 186 and we offered 178. We do like the house and it needs no work doing on it. We know at the moment that there have been a few other viewings but no 2nd viewings.

With the current climate I do not want to offer the asking price as I don't think this happens much these days. How long should I leave it befo

  • What to offer a guide price [land registry] [asking price]

    Q:Hi

We are looking to put in an offer on a house that has a guide price of 185-200k. This house isn't at auction it is just through an EA but has a guide price range rather than a certain asking price.

What does a guide price typically mean does this mean they are looking for 185k 192.5k or 200k?

We were going to offer 170k. This was based on the land registry prices for that street. There was a house on the street that sold for 205k in aug 2007 and was s

  • Barratt Part Ex-change [barratts] [asking price]

Q:I'm looking into the possibility of part exchanging my house to buy a Barratt house, how-ever I don't have any idea what they are likely to offer, I had a number of valuations done prior to putting the house on the market 6 months ago. The offers varied from 137000 up to 150000, I ended up putting the house on the market for 143000. Barratts want to charge me for getting their valuation done, and obviously I'm not expecting them to come back and offer me the asking price, but I am

  • Unfortunately it will not happen. [asking price]

Q:We sold to rent in January this year, it wasn't so much tactical, we were kinda mithered to death to exchange then got gazumped after we'd exchanged.
So we moved in to this rented house where i am now.
I've been watching this forum very closely all year and for a minute there i thought prices may tumble. I feel now this won't happen and have decided to buy a house. Got it for £17,000 less than asking price which i suppose is a result, 3 bed semi in a good area.
