Q:I live in a large House converted into 4 Flats. All the flats are leasehold and 3 of the leasholders (myself included) grouped to buy the freehold. We have owned the freehold for about 13 months.
We have carried out small repairs as required and obviously paid for Buildings insurance.
The 4th flat is rented via an agent on behalf of the leaseholder. Since we took over the freehold we have not been able to contact the leasholder regarding payments outstanding and the 3 lea

Q:Or would bog standards buildings insurance from a.n.other insurer be fine?

In the tax year 06/04/06 – 05/04/07 I spent nearly £1000 on damp proofing & re-plastering of affected areas, 150 on the buildings insurance, 3000 on the interest-only mortgage, and 600 on the solicitors costs for purchasing the property initially – can all of these costs be l
Q:Hi guys,
Looking for a bit of advice. My fiancee and I are about to buy a flat, the top 2 floors of a 4 floor house, to which we get the freehold. There are 2 flats leased out below. I have checked with the leaseholder and he has said there is nothing in the lease regarding maintenance costs but that they have a gentleman's agreement and share a buildings insurance policy. No-one looks after the garden and there is no committee or organisation regarding repairs etc. I assu
