Q:Hi all,
I wondered if I could float this idea by the very intelligent people on this board, it may not be possible or a good idea but it's just something I have dreamed up and would like to venture into.
So;
- Currently I am a first time buyer 6 months in my first flat.
- I've got another 18 months until I can change my mortgage without inccurring penalties
- The flat cost £133,000 when I bought it, I had a £50,000 deposit from my parents and
Q:In 2002 in sad circumstances I inherited a 3 bed detached house in a nice part of Milton Keynes. For inheritance tax purposes the house was valued at £160,000. The house is probably worth £215k now.
To buy my brother out of the house I had to take a £130k mortgage, I got a discounted deal for the first year and am tied in until December 2006 but I can sell it with no penalty then, although my tenants are in until at least February 2007.
I am achieving rent of £800pcm or 4

Q:Between my OH and I we have c £10k. He has inherited his £5k and I have had a bond that has matured for mine.
We have two options
1 To overpay on our mortgage enable us to snowball the overpayments to be mortgage free sooner or:
2. Use teh £10 k as a deposit ,buy a small flat on the cheaper end of the market with a view to renting out and getting the tennant to pay off the mortgage. On a buy to let mortgage (though this has yet to be investigated as financially viable).
Q:We are currently on the council waiting list for a bigger house as we need another bedroom. Unfortunately there is a serious lack of council housing where i stay. So we decided to stay put and buy our council flat and convert the attic into a bedroom. We are just about to contact the council to request the forms we need to buy it. I was just wondering how the council value the property………..does it go by the council tax banding e.g band B property between £25-37 grand or what it would go
Q:to help me with this?
We are looking to move home. Looking at a home at £275,000. However, due to an addition to the family, we only really want to make payments on a mortgage of £200,000 (actually £150,000 as we have £50,000 deposit) for the next couple of years, then start paying the increased amount when my partner returns to full time work.
Is there any products which offer this, or would I need to get a property investor to help me out?
Thanks in advance f
Q:Seasoned landlords are offloading their exposure to risky portfolios just as new buy-to-let beginners are jumping into the market in droves. Some say it?s like watching ?Lambs to the slaughter? ? never has such a phrase summed up the abject state of the ?buy to let market? so succinctly.

Q:My girlfriend's looking to rent out the flat we currently live in in a couple of months time. She's got a mortgage with Chesham at the moment, who've been very good so far. They wouldn't give us "permission to let", but they said we could switch to their BTL mortgage for a fee of £250. This was the plan, however looking at the small print, they say they don't do ex-LA flats. So presumably we're going to have to look elsewhere. Any suggestions?

Q:I just found this article on MSN whilst browsing and its a list of the top 25 places to live in the UK
http://money.uk.msn.com/MyMoney/Insight/Special_Features/Pennywise/article.aspx?cp-documentid=759023
I've only ever seen Horsham out of all these places, so would be interested in peoples opinions in the rest of places as I might be relocating myself in the coming months…
