Q:Right, as of five minutes ago, we are still waiting to hear whether or not our buyers solicitor will let us go to completion via a retainer for driveway works completed post-completion.
She knows we are all hanging around, knows we (sellers/buyers) are in limbo/miserable/stressed.
Yet, she cannot/will not pick the damn phone up and inform us of her decision.

We have just bought a property in France for 90,000 euros & need to pay 7,500 euro's within the next two weeks.
Our completion date is 15th January 2007 when the remaining 82,500 will need to be transferred.
I am hoping that I can find a way of getting a higher interest rate based on the three month notice available but need some advice on this as this is the first time we've done this.

Q:Finally been given my completion date of next Friday, although I am still pushing for tomorrow as I would like to move in over the long Bank Holiday weekend. For some reason my solicitor isnt too keen though even thought I am willing to pay the telegraphic transfer of the mortgage.
Its dragged on over the last couple of weeks and at times I have thought it was going to fall through so the excitement, nervousness or whatever you want to call it when buying your first home had gone. B
