Little confused about polls

Q:We've put our mortgage application in, and instructed solicitors for our purchase. Now the solicitors have asked us if we want them to send us a quote for a survey, but I thought that our mortgage lenders do the survey? We only need a basic one, not a full structural one. Are the solicitors just trying to trick us into having one that we don't need? Or do we have to get two done?

    Q:I need details of a good solicitor in London. I only know two people who have moved – one of whom lives miles away and their solicitor was quite expensive. I shall ask the other tomorrow but it would be nice to have a comparison!

    Anyway got any personal knowledge of solicitors, for conveyancing, that were reasonably priced and good?

    Q:Hi All,

    Ive gotten some quotes for conveyancing, some local and some internet based such as "legalmove" and "conveyancingwarehouse".

    The local solicitors are working out at approx 540 +vat, the internet options come in at approximatley half this!

    The property is being sold for 125k and the costs ive quoted are for selling only.

    Q:can anyone recommend a good fast reasonably priced conveyancing service. I'm not bothered if they are local as previously I've always used the same company who are based elsewhere in the country, however their prices seem to have gone up so I'm looking for alternative. there have been a few threads about this in the past but surprisingly few recommendations so any suggestions would be very welcome.

    Q:Hi,

    I asked the Ea to find me some quotes for local solicitors. they gave me one quote saying it was the cheapest they had-and certainly was cheap compared to three others that i have obtained quotes from.
    i asked the EA what was included and they said 'that includes everything'. So what i did was contact the solicitor and just asked for a quote. The quote was much higher than what the EA had given me-the price was similar to the others i have obtained give or take 2

  • ownership on a part-ex a new build property

    Q:Hi,
    I am looking for advice re the conveyancing for the purchase of a new build property bought through part exchange from the builder.
    Are online conveyancing companies reliable, fast, cheap etc or should I go for face to face with local firm? any and all ccomments welcome
