Q:Interesting, a few months when I first put our house on the market, the best commission rate I could get is 1.35%.:j
Now, after the first agent lost us a sale when the buyer pulled out , I am changing agents and they want 1.5%
I've seen a few agents do this now.
So when the prices fall, the agents put the commission up!

Q:We pulled out of a house purchase a few weeks ago. The sellers have found a new buyer and the EA phoned me to ask if we'd like to sell them our searches. Paid probably £250 for them, I thought we'd offer them at half price but OH thinks we should ask for more as they're getting them for less than they would have paid anyway.
What do you think?
And am I correct in assuming that they should go through our solicitor for this as we've sent them back all the pa
Q:had a letter from gas & electric board saying we owe money for our old property. checked dates with them and we wasnt actually living there at the time and had left some months before.
However – the only proof we have is at the old EA where we handed in our notice to leave and they wont give us – or the gas company – a copy.
We moved back in with parents for a few months then got a new house so we can prove when we moved into the new house but i know the EA re-let
Q:Hi,
I have agreed a price on a house which has been on the market for a few weeks.
I have had an email from my solicitor stating that they have requested for the sellers HIP – however the seller is having difficulty in paying for the HIP as well as EA and solicitor's fee's.
Where the hell does that leave me?
If the seller could not afford to pay these fees why on earth did they put the house on the market?
I have submitted my
Q:Hi Everyone
I am going to view two properties tomorrow which I love already from looking at the pictures. In case the reality lives up to my expectations, I wonder if we should go for it there and then or leave it a while. There seems to be a lot of interest for these propert (and i am aware that this might just be the EA lying to make us move quicker but i would still hate to lose it on this basis)
We initially budgetted to pay £1000 per month but we can afford more. T
Q:After 6 months my EA is no nearer selling my flat and to be quite honest I resent the amount of commission they expect especially when they keep asking me to reduce my price but are not willing to reduce theirs.
I have now found on the internet a company that will help you to sell your property yourself and from what I have read i am quite impressed.
They give a great deal of help and after the initial payments, which are very reasonable they will do all that is necess
Q:I am locked in with my EA for 10 weeks, and paying 1.5 %+ VAT.
Then they want 2 weeks notice after this to change agents.
They are not delivering. Not even advertising in the paper.
Should I just stay with them for the 10 weeks then move agents?
If I have a gap between agents, is the HIP still valid?
I thought you had to continually market the property for the HIP to be valid?
Q:In light of todays news from nationwide, who was on the phone to the EA this morning, indeed has anyone dropped there asking price?
Q:We put a provision offer in on a house, subject to us selling ours.
But unless we get what we want for our house we will have to reduce our offer.
Should I feel locked into the original offer, or should I be bold and ask for £7K off it (depending on what we get for our house?)
I had the EA calling me all the time, putting on the pressure for us to sell our house.
We do like the house. But not at the original price we made the offer at.
