Well the survey is done and the mortgage offer through for the buyers and we are now in a position to exchange. however heres my query having never having done this!!
I phoned my solicitor this morning and she said she has oto wait for the buyers solicitor to contact her. I spoke with the estate agent who has told the buyers to get their solicitor to phone mine!!

I off in a while to see my local council regarding getting on the HA list etc. I'm not too sure what to expect as I've never been in this position before. I have been told to bring my passports and the kids passports, council tax bill and anything else I think might help.

Q:I'm after a bit of advice please.
We have sold our house, and were meant to exchange yesterday or today with completion on 13 June.
I have now discovered, via my ea, that because there are a couple of spelling mistakes on my buyers mortgage offer that we will be doing a simultaneous exchange and completion on 13 June.
I'm not happy at all about this because our mortgage on our puchase fell through on Wednesday, so we have decided to hold on and rent

Q:I am about to sign a contract with an estate agent that would require me to pay their commission on exchange of contracts rather than completion. Is this normal?
If the sale fell through between exchange and completion I would be liable to pay the agents commission out of the deposit. Has anyone else had experience with these types of terms?

wind has blown down the fence and damaged the paintwork on a neighbours car. He wants to be compensated. Is the company i'm buying for the house from responsible? i haven't moved in yet. Contracts are exchanged but we haven't completed (i'm in England).
