Q:Hello
I am a first time poster and i am aware i may be asking something that has already been covered.
My girlfriend and I are looking at buying a house possibly after xmas, however we do have a problem.
We both have decent jobs with good prospects, my girlfriend earns around £21k per year and i earn around £21k per year with a car, phone, etc.

Q:Hi
I really need some advice as i don't know what to do with today's market not looking great!!
My partner and i have just been offered 80% of a property through a shared ownership scheme. We don't have to rent the other 20%. The property is worth £138000 and we will borrow about £107000. We have contacted an independant mortgage advisor who has said he has found us a deal through nationwide. We have no savings between us so no deposit.
I am just
Q:Hi
3 years ago my husband and I got in a big mess financially with unsecured credit – now on DMP being paid off monthly. We previously had a house with my husbands job but he has had several back ops and so we moved into private rented. My husband is now going back to work and I have a stable job earning around £40k. My work approached me at the begining of the year offering and interest free loan of £15000 to be paid of against future bonus's over the next 10 years for a d
Q:..when it comes to offering a deal to a first time buyer?
I aim to save up over the next year while property prices fall. I should be able to squirrel away £10,000, maybe more if I really scrimp (worth it though). I have had a mixe bag with credit lately; accepted for mobile broadband with a company who wanted a deposit if I was to take a mobile contracr, and turned down for 350 credit in an instrument store. I am going to get my reports and deal with them but in the meantime wh
Q:Is this correct?
My OH bought his Dads old house from him cheap when his dad decided to build his own. OH has never lived there as we currently live 1hr away, and has rented it out for the last 7 years.
Because I've been looking to buy for some time I get things through the post for first time buyers (offers to pay fees, etc) but OH says that I can't take these up if we buy together (as we intend to do) as he's not a first time buyer. Literally I know thi
Q:Hi,
I've heard about a new initiative by the government called the 'first time buyer initiative', has anyone bought on this basis and what are the downfalls i need to look out for?
Thanks

Q:I have just made a 90% offer on a property, which was turned down. I am a first time buyer, with a hefty deposit and I can get a mortgage. The house is empty and has been for 6 months and needs a considerable amount of work doing (re-wiring/new boiler – and cosmetic) – and a survey will undoubtedly turn up more costly nasties. Should I walk away, or up the offer? my maximum price is only 5k more than I've originally offered but in the current market conditions I don't want to get burne
Q:I am asking a question that may well (and probably has) been asked before, but I'm going to ask anyway as the way housing is and everything to do with it is always changing so peoples responces may be different than a year ago.
So, question is, say you were a first time buyer and had spotted a potential house to buy. Which is the best way to go about buying it, buy it outright if you can just about afford to do that or get youself a mortgage or a mix of the two or what?
No
Q:It seems to be the accepted wisdom that house prices will fall over the coming year, and therefore that it makes sense to wait if you are a buyer.
But I have my eye on a flat I really like, and am considering buying. I would class myself as super-cautious with risk/money aspects, but on the other hand some people must still be buying houses, and they can't all be bonkers, right?
So, what do you think…I am a first-time buyer. I have a large deposit (up to 35%) and am
