Q:Hi guys,
Just been to see a 2 bed flat way above my budget at £185 which I really liked.
Now as I can't afford this on my own my Father has said (as an investment for himself) he will buy a share in the place with me…
For example I put down the deposit and pay 60% of the mortgage and he pays 40% and then share any equity in the property when I sell or am able to buy him out.
Is this a good idea for me? Anyone else done the same?
Q:We have offered £315k on a house which has been on the market now for some 4 months at £350k. It was originally on at £380k for 2 months (6 in total), – way too much money for what it is.
The seller (a developer) bought the house 13 months ago for £275k (some £20k more than similar houses in the area had sold for at that time) and has completely refurbished it. (New integrated kitchen, bathroom, plumbing / boiler, rewiring, flooring etc) The work is of a good standard.
Q:Hi all, first time on this board due to not having been involved in property before. But am here now for the obvious reason. First time buying.
I am viewing a new build property tomorrow and would like to call on others experience of things I should ask? As its a new build there wont be a lot of anything in there I realise that, but what else should I be looking for and asking about. Sorry the question is a bit vague but any tips or advice greatly recieved.
Q:Morning all,
First off, let me start by telling you my situation.
I'm 19 years old, earn 12500 a year in a secure job. I have no money for a deposit and I want to buy the council house I've lived in with my single parent mother for 18 years.
Buying the house seems an opportunity not to miss as the discount we would receive is immense due to the time we've rented from the council.
Currently I have no idea what price they would ask for the
Q:Hi,
Looking for some advice – we have just accepted an offer on our house. There is no chain at our end, as if we cannot complete on a new place in time, we will move in with relatives. There is no chain their end as it is an investment property and will be let.
Having never sold a house before – what is the next step? Also, how quickly could we expect it to go through?
And how do I wipe the massive smile of my face and concentrate on work? (house was on the
Q:Hi all,
After renting and living at home i have decided to jump on the property market and buy a first time home/flat. I can put 25% deposit and need mortgage for the rest. Basically the 75% is around 7 times my earnings and I kanow that most lenders only would consider around 4 – 5 times your earnings. Are there any Good lenders who are willing to do 6 – 7 times knowing that I have 25% of the deposit. I am a very strong saver and very little spender, you know what I mean. I am look
Q:Hi All
I am hopefully moving down to Bath next month and my boyfriend and I are very keen to buy. However, both of us know very little about the property market- would it be a good time to buy down in Bath? We are really keen to find somewhere that needs a bit of work and 'do it up'.
He is a carpenter and I'm a scientist so neither of us earn big money- we'd be looking around the £200,000 mark for a two bed place.
Any advice would be most appreciated!!
Q:I am in the process of thinking about setting myself up with a mortgage. I could pay £400 – £500 a month to it. The thought of it all is confusing to say the least. I want somewhere decent, thats affordable and somewhere i will enjoy.
Take all the factors in, fees, how much i can get etc and im bricking it. Can i decide to move house in say 9 years if i took a mortgage over 15 years etc?
Can i take a mortgage for say £95K and say the property is £89K does that mean i have
Q:Hi everyone!
To make this brief, we put offer in for house, was accepted, had mortgage valuation and received mortgage offer, had survey done which showed some things wrong so in the last few days we have negotiated with the seller to lower the asking price by £1000.
Question is what happens now?? We have been told the sellers EA writes to our solicitor explaining the change and then our solicitor informs our mortgage lender, is this right?
Plus tomorrow we are
Q:Has anyone any experience of using Econveyancer.co.uk as their solicitors for buying a house? It has been recommended to us, but would like some feedback from any forumites that have used the service.
Any feedback appreciated or general advice on appointing a solicitor for a £110k first time buy.
Many Thanks,
guy
