Q:Hi all,
FTB here, was due to exchange on Friday but run into a problem, just after some opinions……
Had survey done on the house and this came back clear with the only thing that came up being that the flat roof on the kitchen extension needed replacing. Our lender said that they were happy to proceed with no conditions or retentions attached to our mortgage offer and only that they advised us to look into the comments raised in the survey.
We did this a
Q:I am at the bottom of the chain which fell foul a few weeks when the buyer on our house pulled out. If I am in any hope of finding a buyer, it is likely to be a FTB to purchase our small house.
Do I have any hope or should I throw the towel in now?
Q:Hi There
We are FTB and this might be a stupid question .
We are purchasing a Homebuyer's survey from the lender as it seemed a good idea to save on the basic valuation. I have now read that the valuation the lender does might not be shown to us as it is owned by the bank and this is fine with me. However, as we upgraded to a higher level, does this mean that the homebuyer's survey will be handed over to us and the solicitor? I know we should have asked that question be
Q:Hi all,
I am a FTB in search of a mortgage. I have been offered a 2 year Fixed with nationwide for 6.88%.
Would it make sense to go for a variable mortgage given todays climate as presumably mortgage rates are as high as they are potentially going to be and are more likely to drop over a 2 year period.
…or is this just wishful thinking?
Q:I am a FTB considering putting in an offer for a house that has been part exchanged with a builder. Due to this exchange the builder is wanting a quick sale and exchange of contracts however they will not be able to complete until december. At the moment the house is stood empty.
Are there any implications or worrys I should have in buying this property?
Who would be responsible for the house once contracts are exchanged?
TIA
Q:Hi all,
Selling my house to FTB's and house we've moving into is currently vacant so (on paper at least!!) should be a smoother transaction than some on here.
When we bought our house five years ago as FTB's, none of the online conveyancing was available and we had a right nightmare with the firm who handled our purchase.
After getting our HIP done and mortgage secured, this time around we had quotes from HIP company and Bank, but I decided to u
Q:Got an offer today from an FTB to purchase our house. £8K less than we had asked for. We will probably accept.
Question is, do we buy now, or rent for a bit? We have found a property we like, made an offer subject to us selling ours however we wil need to reduce this. The house next door to the one we put the first offer in has come on the market £15K less than our offer.
What should we offer now?
Please help.
Q:Hi all,
Any advice on the following:
We're just putting our 2 bed flat on the market and have seen the house we would like to buy. Basically, we're not in the greatest position as currently have no buyer for ours. Any advice / tricks on how to secure the house we want. We have offered the asking price (which has been reduced by 45k so we're happy it's worth what we're offering).
Basically as soon as a FTB comes along we're stuffed so
