Can the seller increase the house price?

Q:I hope someone has experience of this situation….
Our buyers pulled out last week 2 months after we had agreed the sale of our house. Our vendor gave us a week to find new buyers. So we put the house back on the market at the price we had sold at before. Yesterday we got another buyer. The wierd thing is that we got a lot more for the house this time (27k!!). There were 7 bidders. I wonder if our vendor will try to take that extra profit from us. Will she even know we got so much more?

  • Damp – job just in case or hanging?

    Q:I was wondering if anyone might be able to offer advice, as I've been doing a bit of research on damp in houses, and am hugely confused!

    Basically, we're selling our property and I'm concerned there is a bit of a damp problem which a survey on the house will pick up, which may put off buyers, or at least cause them to ask for a reduction in the house price.

  • Interesting news for those who think that prices only up!

    Q:On the news this morning – Nationwides latest figures show the annual house price rise for the past 12 months was only 8%.

    Now, if you take into account most of this increase is probably caused by the London and SE prices, and maybe a few isolated areas, it means in the rest of the country prices have either risen a tiny bit ( less than inflation ), stayed the same, or dropped.
