  • Should we buy half house to rent?

Q:I would like some advice please…we own a house which is worth £450,000 and have a £130,000 mortgage. We are considering buying a second property for approx £170,000 to rent out for investments purposes. We have virtually no savings at present and therefore no cushion if things go wrong. Are we being foolish to consider buying a second property or is this the wise way to make money in the long term?

Thanks in advance for your help!

  • Help Understanding HMO (house in multiple occupation)

Q:Me and my girlfriend are looking for a place to rent and hoping to share a room in a house and split the rent (of that room) half and half.

I spoke to a landlord who said if we were to do this in his house it would be breaking hmo guidelines…

Do certain houses have a limit on how many people can live in them and would that prevent me and my girlfriend sharing a room and rent and not needing to rent another room inside the property to keep within the guidelines.

Q:I've renting a house for 6 weeks now but it is also up for sale but was told it had been on the market for months with no viwings. Had someone come round today to view it. Just wondering what the situation would be if it was sold. In the tenacy agreement it says "the landlord may bring the tenacy to an end at any time before the expiry of the term, but no earlier than six months from the commenment date." Anyone know if this means that they can't kick me out if was sold befor

  • I will not buy that house then .

Q:My OH and I have just sold our house and thought we had found something really different.

It was one of them 2 storeys at the front, 3 storeys at the back jobbies. It had all the space we wanted and we could see so much potential.

We fell in love with it on the first viewing and knew that we would have to look with our heads the next time.

It was on at £114,500 so we offered £108,000, then we offered £112,000, and finally £114,000 if they would leave us the was

  • Renting a house in France for 1 week with my family

    Q:Hi

Four generations of my family are getting together for a week in France in September. We have been corresponding with the owner of the property since May but only this week have they made us aware of the conditions of the 500 Euro breakages deposit. It has to be given in cash on arrival and will not be returned for two weeks after we have gone, and then by cheque in sterling.

Does anyone know if this is legal? It sounds very odd to me and I'm quite concerned tha

  • Buying a home to cash.

    Q:Hi everyone

I just want to get peoples opinons on whether this is a good idea……

Me and two friends are considering buying a house together in cash. I have 10k and my friends have 30k and 50k respectivly. We are considering buying a house, which will have to be no more than 90k, and then splitting all costs and profit 1/9, 3/9 and 5/9 respectivly.

Assuming we buy the right house and are able to get a tennant and charge around 350-400, we will all be making r
