Q:hi all,
moved in 3 weeks ago to house(property is in Scotland),informed the solicitor within 4 days (you have 5 days to raise any problems) about the following problems:
1. electrical cupboard is a deathtrap,wires dangling everywhere,old boxes not removed/covered etc.
2. 3 of the windows do not operate properly, and are a nightmare to open/close (tilt and swing double glazing)
3. leaking radiator pipe which has been leaking for some time,as the pipe is discoloured
Q:I am due to view a house on Monday and the asking price is £282,500. it has been recently refurbished but the garden according to the EA is in a mess and needs attention, also they have demolished the garage although there is a space for one. Shall I try to negociate with the owner myself and what should I offer? Last year,a semi in that road was selling for £247,000, but the current owner has put a new kitchen and bathroom. Q:firstly i am in Northern Ireland
i have seen a house my husband is mad about. asking price was £165000 however the house has an offer of £161000 (not ours)
we have had our existing property valued at around £90000 we owe £47000 on our mortgage. we would be putting all the profit from the sale of our house as a deposit except for £5000 which we intend to use to pay off all our credit cards.
so i guess we would around £37000 left if house sells for £90000. h
Q:I have accepted an offer on an investment property from the current tenants. The property has no mortgage and is freehold. Does anyone know if doing the conveyancing myself would be straightforward? Any sample contracts or a good website would be very helpful.
Thanks

Q:I need advice!
My father-in-law is 74 but his health is poor for his age. He lives alone in a property he owns worth about £250k.
My husband and I worry about him living on his own. (He has problems with his joints and struggles going upstairs) After discussing our options for a few years we have agreed (with my FIL) that he would sell his house and we would buy a property that would be big enough for the three of us (and the family we plan to have).
He has
Q:Hubby is a part beneficiary of a property that is to be sold.
He has been asked if he has any preference on estate agents to carry out the sale by the executors. Now apart from cost, is there anything we should be aware of?
The property is being lived in at the mo and I personally would prefer to request accompanied viewings only but is this a realistic request?
