Help! Shared ownership of property .

Q:I am attempting to purchase a shared ownership property (1 bedroomed flat) from a local housing association, purchasing 60% of the property at £69,000. There is no opportunity for staircasing / purchasing further shares in the property. However, as yet, I have been unable to find a mortgage lender from whom I can obtain a mortgage . The first mortgage lender, Manchester Building Society, found through a broker, eventually turned down my application because they did not lend on the lease terms

  • Factors to consider when choosing notary?

Q:I'm buying a new build through shared ownership and have reserved a plot which will be ready in March.

The housing association have asked me to send them my soloicitor details. They have also given me a list of solicitors frequently used by their purchasers.

The answer I got was that the flats on the open market come with allocated parking. Also there is no flooring (carpets etc) in most rooms in the shared ownership flats aswell as fr

Q:A friend of a friend rents from a Housing Association and says they are being offered money to move out. The place is not being demolished or anything and will be re-let to someone else. Is this common and if so what is the advantage to the Housing Association? I can see the advantage to the current tenant about £30k to vacate, but why would the Housing association do this?
