Q:Hi all,
Well the question is in the header, are house deeds worth anything at all? Are they worth the paper they are written on?
I am aware that duplicates can be requested from the land registry, so what is the real value of the originals?

Q:Hi people, hope there is someone out there that can provide some useful advice with a big problem I have with Persimmon.
We moved into one of their new builds a couple of years back (yes, this has been a nightmare for 2 years!!). Persimmon supplied my solicitor with a set of boundary drawings once titles were completed. We signed the plans then the solicitor forwarded them off the the Land Register of Scotland. Good times….

Incidently if it was true could th

We were talking to somebody and they said asked if we have changed the names on the Land Registry over to my dad as it is was in joint names as he said if anything happened to my dad in a few years we would be hard to prove who owned what and a lot of paperwork.
My dad had a brief word with a le
Q:My parents wish to amend the ownership of their (rented out) property from one name into joint names.
There is no mortgage, and they have the physical deeds in their possession
They have been told by a friend that only a solicitor can deal with this? My mum has made enquiries at a local solicitors office and they want to charge £400 PLUS land registry fees.
I have looked at the land registry site but can't seem to find the answer
Help anyone?
Q:When a purchaser is offered incentives by the developer (i.e. 5% deposit paid, SDLT paid, legal fees paid, etc.) the actual purchase price is reduced and it is this reduced figure that should be registered at the Land Registry and the incentives also informed to the lender.
I cannot find any information on which figure should be notified to HM Revenue & Customs when paying SDLT. Presumably it should be the reduced price?
