My partner and I are planning to move in together this year. His father inherited a house last year and has agreed to gift it to the two of us if we take out a mortgage to pay some of the money to him and my partner's sister. He wants us to give them ￡160,000 so in effect, we will own ￡90,000 of the house which is worth c250k.
What kind of mortgage should I be looking for and will the gifting affect any mortgage we can get – it will be subject

My husband and I have been married for 8 years. We both owned a property at the time, so I sold mine and moved into his.
We paid the mortgage off in 2004 but my husband is the only name on the Deeds – we forgot about it until recently!
So my question is – what do we need to do to add my name onto the deeds? What is the approx. cost etc.
We need to update our will, so need to sort out the house deeds first.

I'm just about to let my flat as I've got to move to another part of the country for my work.
Can somebody tell me if I am right in thinking that when working out the amount of tax I need to pay on the income from the flat, I can deduct the interest I'm paying on the mortgage for the flat ?

Q:I know my outstanding balance on my 100% mortgage of 56000 is approx 54k but whats the redemption figure likely to be? We're out of our two year tie in by an extra two years so no early redemption fees as such.

Q:we accepted an offer 3 weeks ago tomorrow and the buyer hasnt sorted her mortgage out. the story is that she is moving onto a new rate at the end of the month then porting the mortgage to our house,.
thing is, i would have assumed all this could have been arranged by now rather than after the rate ends? her solicitor hasnt communicated with ours and hey received the sellers pack a week ago.
maybe i should ask the agent to remarket asap?
