Q:Sorry, I can't get hold of OH (not answering phone ) and just needed to rant.
Have just spoken to solic who is acting for our sale and purchase, basically nothing has changed since I spoke to her last week – still waiting for paperwork!
She said we are looking at about 4 week – " How long, 4 weeks" was the very shocked reply from me, to which it changed to at worst case scenario (sp).
It seems to be taking forever – we are now in week no 6, with anoth

Q:Hi all.
I am selling my house and am on the hunt for a solicitor on a SALE only basis which is fairly straight forward. people say that they even deal with the paperwork themselves but to be honest i would feel safer with a solicitor.
i have rung around for a quote and the best i can find is 650+VAT.
Out of your experience can anyone recommend a solicitor in the reading area that could beat that quote?

Q:long story – cut short
the solicitor that is handling the purchace of my sisters house is offering a very poor service. for example no written correspondance, incorrect information, not doing things as said.
what are the options for either
moving solicitor so late in the sale?
Not paying full solicitor fee's on grounds they havent done their job?
is there a solicitor complaints group?
or any other options for gee-ing them on / seeking compen

Q:I wonder if anyone can help me with this one.
I moved house last Thursday 8th June. The way things worked out there is money left from the sale of my previous house. The solicitor says he would deduct his and the EA fee from this and send me a cheque for the balance.
However, I still haven't received anything. Has anyone had any experience of waiting this long? After all it is his bank account that is gathering interest and not mine.
