Q:I would appreciate some help from all you experts out there. At the time of my divorce my house was transferred into my name but my ex retained a charge on it until I paid him a final balance. I am now in a position to pay this money. My question is can he just contact the land registry direct to remove the charge or do we have to use solicitors (and incur more costs!).
Many thanks
Q:Has anyone any experience of using Econveyancer.co.uk as their solicitors for buying a house? It has been recommended to us, but would like some feedback from any forumites that have used the service.
Any feedback appreciated or general advice on appointing a solicitor for a £110k first time buy.
Many Thanks,
guy

However, the searches we are waiting for are due back on tuesday. So our solicitor has sent us a contract to sign on the proviso that what comes back from local authority matches it(which it should)then they will have everything they need and we can proceed as planned…….
