Urgent Help – Gas boiler license [gas boiler] [plumber]

Q: We sold our house and have lost, certificate when it was provided with more than 5 years ago.

Can we get a to come and so the boiler survey and get a new statement from him? If so, what do we need to ask?

A:Good afternoon: Paulapaula13 is referring to this http://www.trustcorgi.com/consumer/requestacertificate.htmx

The installation engineer, if he or she can self-certify, will provide the details of the installation to CORGI and you should receive a Building Regulations certificate in post within a couple of weeks…keep this document in a safe place….this document is not a gas safety certificate and cannot be provided by another gas engineer…the idea is to register the installation at the time of installation. The installation engineer should also fill out the Benchmark book and service log (provided by the boiler manufacturer with the boiler).

A:Hi. The regulations changed on a certain date a few years ago – you only need to supply a certificate if your boiler was installed after that date, so check when the new regs came in. I'm selling my house and was asked by the buyers solicitor for an electrical certificate which I didn't have. Luckily my husband is an architect and spotted that at the time our electrical work was done a certificate would not have been issued! Hence solicitor quickly backed off!
If you do really need a certificate then I'm sure you could get a boiler engineer out to check the installation and issue one.

A:Good evening: We recently sold our house (last month in fact) and the buyer's solicitor requested a copy of the Benchmark book and the Buildings Regs certificate to ensure that the boiler was installed by a competent person i.e. a CORGI engineer and it was ,free of charge, by my OH aka Corgi Guy: the provision of a gas safety certificate (and an electrical safety certificate) puts many potential purchasers at ease and can make your property a more attractive proposition

A:Why do you need this? I've bought 2 houses with gas boilers and neither time have I requested to see any certificates. All I have done is have a Corgi engineer service the boiler shortly after moving in.

A:Look in your local yellow pages and find a Corgi registered and request a boiler certificate/inspection, in this part of the UK, costt for the same are between £35-50

A:Thanks guy.

I think we might have packed the certificate somewhere and sent it off to storage at the my mums!!!! But between us all cannot find it anywhere!

The solicitor has not asked for it yet and if does will just ask to do a survey / gas safety inspection certificate / landlord certificate.

A:Bump…..have you had any joy?

A:Good evening: I have responded to your post on the same topic in the DIY forum

Good luck.

A:I don't think the certificate would have any value after five years.

If anybody asks, tell them you lost it.

A:You could ask the original fitter if they could supply a copy?
