WooHoo! Have you the keys to our first house today!

Q: Hi all!

Well after months of searching, sorting, survays, offer, rejection and acceptance of me and my fiance got the keys to our very fist home and grabbed the hand with a blank first run of the .

We had accepted the offer on October 18 and managed to complete within 2 weeks. Great stuff!

I just bought a new set of locks for all doors and we have only one weeks for most of the bits we want to do before Im back to work right through Christmas to make the day! Im not going to enjoy the house until the new year, but at least we are now!

This forum is really great and offers lots of information, even without a question so ask to all truly grateful, even if you knew you helped commet!

A:Wow, didn't even think it was possible in two weeks! Congratulations, glad to hear that not everyone has a negative and stressfull experience when buying a house.

We exchanged yesterday and will move into our new home on 18 Nov, can't wait to finally hold the keys in my hand! Our buying process has been a rollercoaster ride, but then again we are in a chain. Mental note for future: never buy another house in a chain!

Enjoy your new home: !

A:: Congratulations!

Seriously impressed on the 2 week front. That is one good solicitor – hang on to them!

A:Sorry meant to do new thread not post reply as above….

A:I exchanged last week and am completing in 4 weeks time. I have bought the flat below my partner and it was a private sale (no EA). There is no chain and the vendor is moving out (supposedly) a few days before completion. He currently has keys for my partners so there is a level of trust there already.

Usually there is an EA to drop/pick keys up from on day of completion. However as we will both be at work I am not sure what common practice would be. Anyone have any experience of this or suggestions? Thanks

A:Wow – 2 weeks! That must be a record – very pleased for you. Enjoy your new home.

A:Thanks for all your kind comments and wishes!!

RE: Completing in 2 weeks, it all just kinda fell into place. The house was empty, no chain and the solicitor was really good and pushed hard to complete for the 1st.
Don't forget the whole process had started about a month ago but we're chuffed to bits the final process from the time the seller accepted was so short!

A:WTG

You must be so chuffed.

Hope you have many happy years in your new home.

A:Congratulations! I did the same yesterday, moved in last night and have popped home again for internet access to get some work done and spend more money online to get things for the house.

Slept like a baby last night, though i did wake up at half five.

I hope you are as chuffed as i am
