Q: I have a work permit for the UK and my partner is European. I have spoken to London Country u0026 but they say there is only 1 lender in the United Kingdom, which will provide us with a mortgage because of my work permit. This can not be right, can it?
A:I was having the same problem last year. Had a Holiday
Work Permit and was looking for a mortgage. In the end, Intelligence Finance gave me the mortgage. They only require that you have at least 6 months remaining on your visa. I found out about them through Alexander Hall, who charge £399 once I engaged their sevice, which I thought was fair since I wanted to get a mortgage ASAP.
A:Hi,
I was in similar situation some time back and the truth is that lenders do hesitate to give mortgage to wp holders. I tried lloydstsb because i had current account with them and they accepted my application. Try the bank where you have ur current or savings account. They might not be competitive on interest rate but they will be able to offer something.
As for brokers, I tried alaxander hall and they were very optimistic. Didnt go ahead with them as they charged a hefty fee for their services. ( i think 1-2%).
all the best.
guy.
